CASE STUDY: Addition with Kitchen and Bath Remodeling and Exterior Improvements
Acheson Builders performed an elegant affordable remodeling job on a modest ranch home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Take a look!
For over thirty years we have designed and built living spaces that are both relaxing and inspiring. Our eye for design makes us stand out from the crowd– and this makes a real difference for your project.
After studying for several years at the University of Michigan, in the school of Architecture & Design and the school of Natural Resources, Jim Acheson took some time off school to apprentice as a carpenter with a local builder, and to learn building construction from the inside out. While apprenticing, he studied construction technology at Washtenaw Community College. Acheson’s fine craftsmanship and keen eye for design was recognized early on, and so within a couple of years the builder with whom Jim had been working decided to retire, and to give over his clients and job leads to Jim Acheson, knowing they would be handled capably. Thus Mr. Acheson was able to begin business on his own in 1973. Small remodel projects and custom cabinetry were so carefully and skillfully done that Acheson’s customers began steadily referring his services to their friends.
Jim Acheson and other members of his team have continued to study over the years. Jim Acheson has earned the designation of Certified Graduate Builder, making him a member of an elite group of builders who have studied and been tested in a certification program run by National Association of Home Builders. He has also earned Certified Graduate Remodeler, having met standards achieved only by a small percentage of remodelers across the country. In addition, he has recently earned the designation of Certified Aging in Place Specialist, having the skills to be able to assist you with making your home comfortable, accessible, and safe for those looking forward to that golden time in their lives.
